Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026

This page lists every cookie and piece of browser storage palspost.com uses, what each one does, and how long it lasts. Most of it exists to make the site work. We also use Google Analytics to see which stories get read and Google AdSense to pay for the site, and you can switch both off below.

Cookies we set

wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_* Keeps you signed in to your account and secures signed-in requests Session, or about 14 days with “remember me” Strictly necessary

Analytics cookies

Set by Google Analytics, and only while the Analytics switch is on. Turn it off and Google stops storing these on your device.

_ga Tells returning visits apart from new ones, using a randomly generated ID 2 years Analytics
_ga_QQ2PJSMZY7 Keeps session state for our specific Analytics property 2 years Analytics

Advertising cookies

Set by Google AdSense. Turning the Advertising switch off does not remove the ads — it tells Google to stop personalizing them to you, and to stop reading and writing the cookies it uses for that.

__gads Measures ad performance and limits how often you see the same ad 13 months Advertising
__gpi Ad personalization and fraud prevention 13 months Advertising

Browser storage we use

These are localStorage keys — they stay on your device and are never transmitted with requests.

Key Purpose Duration Category
pph_consent Remembers that you have answered the cookie notice, so we do not ask again Until cleared Strictly necessary
bunyad-scheme Remembers your light/dark mode preference Until cleared Preference
pp_session Tells your browser to display the signed-in header on cached pages; contains no personal data Until sign-out Strictly necessary
palspost_queue Carries cards you add from a deck page into the Deck Builder Until the builder loads them Preference

Third-party services

  • Google Analytics — measures how many people read each story and how they found it. We see totals and trends, never individual readers by name. Controlled by the Analytics switch.
  • Google AdSense — serves the ads that pay for the site. Controlled by the Advertising switch; with it off you still see ads, but they are not personalized.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection on our sign-up and password-reset forms only. It normally sets no cookies; if it needs to challenge a suspicious visitor it may set short-lived security cookies (about 1 hour) from cloudflare.com. Strictly necessary.
  • Discord — the member-count widget in our header loads from Discord’s servers, which means Discord sees the request (including your IP address). These requests set no cookies on palspost.com.
  • Google Fonts — the site’s typefaces load from Google’s servers, which sees your IP address and browser information. Google states that Fonts requests set no cookies.

What we do not use

No social media SDKs, no session-recording or heatmap tools, and no data brokers. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles ourselves — the only advertising cookies here are Google’s, and the Advertising switch turns them off.

Managing cookies

Use the panel to turn analytics and advertising on or off at any time — it is also linked in the footer of every page. Your choice takes effect immediately and is remembered on every page after that. You can additionally clear or block cookies in your browser’s settings; blocking the strictly necessary ones will prevent signing in.
